Grown-ups

The practical details, kept away from the children's pages.

Privacy

Everything a child does on this site stays on this device. There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts or embeds. The site does not collect names, ages, email addresses, locations, photos or recordings — nothing personal is ever asked for or sent anywhere.

The passport (stamps, stickers, sound and difficulty preferences) is stored in this browser's local storage only. It disappears if the browser's site data is cleared, and it cannot move between devices or browsers by itself — the passport page offers a backup download and restore for that. Nothing here syncs to henryscrayon.com or vice versa; browser storage is kept separate per site.

The "listen" buttons use the device's own built-in speech voices. No audio or text is sent to a speech service.

Settings

Sound and difficulty are chosen with the controls at the top of every page and are remembered on this device. The site also honours the device's reduced-motion setting. To wipe everything, use "Start again" on thepassport page, or clear this site's data in the browser settings.

Sources and image credits

Facts are checked against the sources listed below; photographs are rights-cleared and credited to their creators. The Cecil character artwork belongs to Henry's Crayon and is not covered by the photograph licences.

Elsewhere

Cecil comes from the Henry's Crayon picture books: henryscrayon.com.

Cecil's social pages for grown-ups are coming soon. They are not linked from the children's pages, and nothing from them is embedded here.

This same site is served at both cecil.henryscrayon.com and cecilsadventures.com; it is the same content on both.
